10 Most Heart-Breaking WWE Moments Of The 2010s
10. Finn's One Day Reign
When Finn Bálor became the first ever Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2016, wrestling fans were hyped.
Not only was Bálor the new top guy on Raw, his push had come at a rapid pace, having debuted on the main roster just 27 days earlier.
Sadly, like Bálor's body paint during a match, this joy would quickly fade.
The very next night on Raw, Bálor came to the ring with the Universal title over one shoulder and a sling over the other.
In his match with Rollins the previous night, Bálor tore his right labrum and was forced to sit out the next seven months of competition. Sadly, this meant that his time as Universal Champion came to an end after just 24 hours.
Bálor had debuted with such promise and was somebody people genuinely wanted to succeed. To see him crash so hard after such a big win was devastating.
Furthermore, this was the first and only time Bálor has ever been treated as a main eventer. Bar a few matches for the Universal title here and there, Bálor has been stuck firmly in the midcard since his injury.
Do WWE now think he's a liability as champion? We'll never know, but we do know that this was a crushing moment for both Finn and his fans.
