10 Most Overlooked WWE Hell In A Cell Spots
10. Sweet Chin Sledgehammer (Hell In A Cell 2009)
Sorry Edge and Christian, but forget the Con-Chair-To, this is the weaponized tag team move we need to see more often.
Really, the entire match between DX and Legacy is a bit underrated, as it's one of the few HIAC matches that has a highlight package comprised of more than three or four high spots with a bunch of fluff thrown in the middle. This was a solid match from start to finish that had a wonderful flow to it.
That said, the biggest highlights may not have had as much of an OMG factor as other HIAC moments. Yes, Shawn Michael's diving elbow onto Cody Rhodes' neck - which was wedged into a steel chair - was bada*s, but it wasn't exactly "Chokeslam Through the Cage" bada*s.
But that finish...that finish was impeccable.
As a dazed Rhodes stood helpless in the ring, HBK tuned up the band while HHH thumped the mat with his sledgehammer, signaling the merger of two iconic maneuvers. And it did not disappoint. The Sweet Hammer Music (or Sledge Chin Music?) should have appeared so much more after this, but sadly, it did not.
