Although he was decked out in polka dots and never really draped himself in the flag during his WWF run, Dusty Rhodes was known as the American Dream because he embodied the spirit of the common American. And because of that, it€™s fair to say that he was a patriot.

Rhodes famously is known as the son of a plumber, and so he naturally feuded with people like €œMacho King€ Randy Savage and the €œMillion Dollar Man€ Ted DiBiase during his two-year run with the company.

Rhodes didn€™t capture any titles during his time in WWF, and he didn€™t specifically defend America€™s honor, but fighting against a king and a ridiculously wealthy character is something that is rooted in the common man in America.
