4. Kurt Angle
Even though the bulk of his WWE career was spent as a heel, Kurt Angle was a guy who wrestled in red, white and blue tights and came out to patriotic fanfare music. Oh, and he won a gold medal in wrestling at the 1996 Olympics with a broken freakin neck!
Angles mere standing as the first Olympic gold medalist in WWF/E history warrants high placement on this list, regardless of the fact that he was a bad guy most of the time. He did spend some time as a good guy, which certainly helped his standing.
Perhaps the biggest patriotic moment in Angles WWF career came in late 2001, when he won the WWF Championship less than two weeks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Even if he never makes another appearance in WWE, Angle should be remembered fondly by fans who appreciated his in-ring performances, and the memorable promos from the Olympic hero.
