10 Most Unexpected WWE Burials Ever
2. John Cena
John Cena's name has cropped up a few times during this list. He is usually the one holding the shovel in a list about burying talent, but at SummerSlam 2014, these roles were reversed in shocking fashion.
Some moments in wrestling history feel like real "you had to be there" moments. Cena's least popular years were when he seemed truly unstoppable. The Super Cena, Big Match John, "lol Cena wins" years were a difficult watch, so when Cena and Brock Lesnar were booked for SummerSlam 2014, fans could be forgiven for expecting more of the same. After all, Cena defeated Lesnar in his first match back in WWE at Extreme Rules 2012.
This time, things would go much differently. Brock Lesnar mauled John Cena in astoundingly brutal fashion in front of a stunned Los Angeles crowd and millions watching at home. The night that Suplex City was born involved Cena taking an F-5 in the first 30 seconds of the match and a whopping 15 German Suplexes. We had never seen Cena manhandled like this, as Brock won the WWE Championship in one of the most shocking burials in company history.
