10. Goldberg Addresses His WWE Contract Status On ESPN

Typically trustworthy backstage sources all but confirmed this week that Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar II had been penciled in for Survivor Series in Toronto next month, leading to widespread speculation that Bill Goldberg's appearance on ESPN would acknowledge the situation in the affirmative.

Goldberg's comeback has proven controversial on the internet. After all, the last match that he had with Lesnar, though decidedly must-see for how the crowd reacted, arguably was one of the most disappointing marquee matches of the century. That said, there is a fair amount of nostalgia that has been conjured up by his appearance in WWE 2K17 and some desire to see him step into the ring one more time.

In the ESPN interview, he did not come across as a man on the precipice of making an in-ring return, but bear in mind that Goldberg comes from a generation that did not openly admit to everything going on behind the scenes in out-of-character interviews. Goldberg's mystique was actually built during the dying days of kayfabe, so it would not be totally unlike a wrestler from his time to simply poke the figurative bear, teasing conflict without ever actually saying outright, "I want to come back and I want Lesnar".

Take it however you wish, but it was a good interview and it could very well lead into the rematch.
