10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2023
10. House Of Black Finally Dominating
Worries that House Of Black would end the night looking more like The Butcher, Blade and Serpentico than viable challengers for the Trios straps were not without merit. AEW has wobbled more than once on Malakai's crew, so it was lovely to see them come away with the belts.
HOB might've been dead in the water had they lost.
The six-man was a typically hot match that had a lot of talent on show, but the big story is obviously Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks dropping their titles. AEW's next hurdle will be giving House Of Black some great challengers they can work with on TV, and maybe moving away from The Elite as division spearheads.
That'd be a brave move, but it'd be the right call. Obviously, Tony Khan can revisit this and book Omega and The Bucks as revenge-hungry final bosses for HOB down the road, but not for a while. It's important that Malakai, Buddy Matthews and Brody King get some consistency.
