10 Non-Wrestlers Who Need To Be In The WWE Hall Of Fame

4. Cyndi Lauper

Without Cyndi Lauper, perhaps we wouldn't have the biggest annual wrestling show in the world.

Singer Cyndi Lauper is best known for mega hits such as Time After Time, True Colours and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The latter is why Lauper is on this list.

In the video for that song, Lauper's father is played by Captain Lou Albano, a manager, former wrestler and a Hall of Famer in his own right. Using Albano's friendship with Lauper, the WWF was able to get major mainstream attention during the mid-'80s, leading to what is now known as "The Rock 'n' Wrestling Era".

Lauper's star power helped get WWF programming onto MTV and Lauper herself even appeared at the first ever WrestleMania, managing Wendi Richter in her Women's Championship match.

Lauper's mainstream appeal helped push the WWF and wrestling into pop culture in a way that had never been seen before. Lauper's influence helped WWE put on the first WrestleMania event, which has become a company and an industry institute since.

Basically, she's the reason WWE are so obsessed with getting celebrities involved in their product. So I guess we should all kind of hate Cyndi a little bit.

In all seriousness, though, WWE may not be as big today if it wasn't for Cyndi Lauper's help. But no. Apparently Snoop Dogg is way more important for rapping Sasha Banks to the ring that one time.
