10 Potential WWE Royal Rumble 2016 Winners

8. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens had quite an impressive first year with WWE. Though he was unable to capture the WWE Championship in his first 12 months like other superstars such as Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, Kevin Owens has made a name for himself just the same in a vastly different sports-entertainment world. With NXT being a relative requirement for all incoming talent, Owens even making it to the main roster as quickly as he did is an impressive accomplishment in itself. He also captured the NXT Championship and Intercontinental Championship, as well as defeating John Cena clean in his main roster debut match all within the past year. Had Owens not lost the Intercontinental title last month to Dean Ambrose at the TLC PPV, his chances of winning the Rumble might be a little higher. A Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens match was teased as the finals for the Survivor Series 2015 WWE Championship Tournament, but Ambrose defeated Owens at that PPV as well. Owens' chances of walking away from the Rumble victorious are not nearly as high as some of the others on this list, but his success in 2015 and the potential WWE obviously sees in him gets him in the conversation.
