Speaking of the Intercontinental Championship, Dean Ambrose was the superstar who unseated Owens as champion and he also stands an outside chance at winning the Royal Rumble. While his chances aren't much greater than Owens, the fact that WWE recently switched the title over to Ambrose and gave him two straight PPV wins over the former NXT Champ does say that he edges Owens out, even if by a little. He's one of WWE's top stars, but we have already seen a Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose PPV main event and, though it was part of a bigger story, it was nothing to write home about. A heel turn for Dean might improve the Lunatic Fringe's chances at winning the Rumble, but neither of those scenarios are too likely to happen by January 24. As it is though, Dean is listed where he is because he's been in the main event before and he will be again in the future.
