5. Ember Moon Becomes No. 1 Contender

Most fans knew when Ember Moon made her debut that she was destined for the title picture. Her gimmick, her in-ring skills and her breathtaking finisher have all positioned her as a future star in the NXT women's division.

It was definitely the right call to hold off on her ascent, and Mickie James turned out to be a terrific placeholder in challenging Asuka. But if the champion is to make her way to the main roster she will need to drop the belt to someone worthy of it, and there are none more suitable to guide the division forward than Ember Moon.

Ideally she will be built up even more before engaging in a feud with Asuka, and it even looks as though Mickie James will continue to challenge her, so NXT should start to push Ember towards the title in the next few weeks. Have her run through some of the undercard and eventually James herself on her way to a title shot and then let the two most talented women in the division do battle.
