10 Promising Recent WWE Storylines Which Ultimately Fizzled Out

10. The Usos Vs. The Hardy Boyz - 2019

The fact that this hardly got any notice pretty much sums up the abject state of WWE’s tag divisions. However, regardless of Vince’s apathy towards tag teams, this had a big time era vs. era feel to it. And the Usos had even been allowed to mention and call out the Hardyz for weeks during their promos.

The signs were pointing towards a potential clash at WrestleMania 35 and perhaps even a long term feud. Unfortunately, we got none of that. Jimmy and Jey defended their titles at WrestleMania in a randomly put together Fatal Four Way which didn’t even include Matt and Jeff. Now this could still be justified given WrestleMania that year had around 7000 matches.

However, there was no proper feud following ‘Mania either. The Hardyz got a title shot, they won, and then Jeff got injured forcing them to vacate. That was the last we saw the Hardyz together in WWE. And potentially one of the biggest tag team feuds ever was over before it ever really began.
