4. Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels II (Wrestlemania XIII)
It's one of the most dividing matches in WWE history, but nobody can deny the sheer effort which went into the 60-minute Iron Man Match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart at Wrestlemania VII. Going an hour is impressive in itself, but the fact both men retained interest without any pinfalls, submissions or disqualifications shows just how great both are as performers. Doing the job, Hart was under the impression that he'd get revenge at Wrestlemania 13 in 1997, which was something provisionally agreed between Michaels, Vince McMahon and Hart himself. A deteriorating relationship between the wrestlers would eventually nix plans however, and a rematch never ended up happening. Instead, Hart worked with Steve Austin on the show, whilst HBK missed it altogether, claiming injury. According to Bret, a lot of the boys in the back were furious with Shawn, feeling he was dodging the proverbial bullet, feigning being hurt to prevent the idea of dropping the belt back to Hart from happening. Incredibly, things would only get more dramatic between the men, both involved in the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob' incident later in '97.
