10 Proposed WrestleMania Matches (Which Didn't Happen)

3. Andre The Giant vs. Hulk Hogan II (Wrestlemania IV)

Undoubtedly one of the most memorable visuals in Wrestlemania history, Hulk Hogan's bodyslam on the massive Andre The Giant has been replayed countless times since the pair met at Wrestlemania III for the WWF Title. It's a story Hogan has told literally hundreds of times since 1987, and with good reason, it's hard not to watch the match without a chill running up the spine. Following the event, WWE management wanted more, and explored the opportunity to recreate magic the following year. Wrestlemania IV was scheduled to take place at Trump Plaza in 1988, and Hogan vs. Andre II seemed like the perfect way to cap off the event. The match would take place on the show, but in the middle of the card, as part of a 14-man tournament to crown a new WWF Champion. The title had been vacated after a match on Saturday Night's Main Event between Andre and Hulk, which saw Ted DiBiase ensure the giant would win, before buying the title from him. Thus, a tournament was set up, Andre's win negated, and history changed forever when Randy Savage would leave 'Mania IV victorious. Would a second Andre vs. Hulk match have went down quite as well as the first?
