It's a shame that a combination of injury and Wellness Policy violations stopped wrestling fans from seeing William Regal as a main event heel in 2008, it could have made for some truly essential episodes of Monday Night Raw. After winning the King Of The Ring, the man was on fire, delivering cracking promos and an in-ring style which differentiated him from everyone else in the locker room. Wade Barrett will use the fact he's from England during his run as the 'King', that seems to be without question. There's some mileage there, such as using the Royal Family, the general British monarchy and the fact a new Royal baby has just been born, but there's some semblance of rehashing which would come along for the ride. Regal played a vicious, conniving heel King brilliantly, never falling into the trap of being overtly childish or cartoon-like. Already, Barrett is being booked similarly to how Sheamus was when he won the tournament, which is not exactly a recipe for sustained success!
