10 Reasons King Barrett Is Dead In The Water

1. Fans Bemoan What The Title Used To Represent

A lot of fans were torn when WWE announced that the King Of The Ring was making a comeback, because it simply cannot mean what it used to. Back in the generation of the King Of The Ring on Pay-Per-View, the event was treated like one of the biggest on the calendar, but it's now somewhat of an also ran idea. Needless to say, fans miss the glory days for the concept, when it truly meant something to be crowned 'King' of the World Wrestling Federation. Bret Hart won the title by being the best in-ring worker in the company, something which could also be said of his younger brother Owen in 1994. Obviously, the likes of Mabel and Billy Gunn were far from model examples for the good that King Of The Ring can provide, but at least it was something which resonated throughout the entire wrestling world when someone would win the thing before. Now, it really seems like being crowned 'King' can lead to a blip in a performer's career, which is a sad thought. Winning The King Of The Ring should represent the fact that WWE are truly behind their chosen wrestling royalty, but that's not the case in 2015. Oh how nice it would be to be proven wrong! What other reasons do you feel could hold back Wade Barrett from main event status post-King Of The Ring? Do you agree with the choices on this list? Let us know down in the comments section below!
