3. Roman Reigns, Then And Now

Roman Reigns€™ singles saga may feel like it€™s been going since Jesus walked, but watching the Shield in action at the Superdome, you remember that it hasn€™t even been two years since we had a Reigns we could get behind.

And that is just depressing.

Watching Ambrose and Rollins doesn€™t stir up nearly as much bitter nostalgia, because they€™ve been extremely well received since The Shield broke up. But when you look back at Reigns knowing what Vince and co. are about to do with him for the next€ forever, you just shake your head.

Not that Reigns hasn€™t grown in many ways since then, and not that it wasn€™t necessary to make it as a singles star. But as far as general character lines, watching Mania XXX just reminds you how over he used to be, and how poorly his reinvention has gone since.

He used to show up, look mean, clean house, and leave. No promos, no emotional struggles, just hurt and lots of it. It€™s a good bet that fans would have backed that guy for world champ.
