10 Reasons WWE Can't Care About Their TV Ratings Anymore

Nobody's watching but WWE continues to do nothing.

In news that should surprise absolutely nobody, WWE's ratings continue to slide in a manner that is actually comparable in no way whatsoever to the company's previous ratings slides. Perhaps due to poor booking, perhaps due to a plethora of broadcast options offered by the company, or heck, maybe it's just a sign of where TV is headed in the future, but WWE's doldrums appear impossible to shake. Unfortunately, instead of making ham-handed attempts at doing things like bringing back Sting, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, The Rock and numerous other established stars, WWE may be wise to just accept what is happening as far from out of their control and focus on progressive and/or groundbreaking measures that could potentially stop the bleeding in WWE and give the company a sense of a brighter future. Maybe it's time for radically re-shifting their business priorities, or perhaps stopping to think about some missed booking opportunities that are coming home to roost. Whatever WWE does, one thing is patently clear. The time for focusing on TV ratings as a major sign of the company's economic success has passed. In looking at the future, in focusing ahead and effectively forgetting their now-flawed past, WWE could discover a brighter (and better) way.
