10 Stupid Rules WWE Have Enforced

4. Ignore The Titantron

WWE's production values are amongst the highest in the live entertainment world. Upon witnessing an episode of Raw or Smackdown live, or even a Pay-Per-View for the first time, it's unlikely that many fans aren't instantly impressed by the scale of set WWE wheel out. The huge video wall, known as the titantron, is fantastic for keeping the show going, airing various video packages before major matches, as well as backstage vignettes and promos. The screen has been of tremendous benefit to the overall production of each show, but there's one time it simply sits there like the proverbial elephant in the room. On occasion, wrestlers in the ring are delivering a promo. It's a fairly routine occurrence on WWE television to see those wrestlers be ambushed from behind by others, sparking a wild brawl. There's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes the titantron is a hindrance - often, the wrestler being attacked is facing in the direction of this mammoth monitor, capturing the entire ring, yet fails to notice an opponent sneaking up on them. This breaks the tension somewhat, and again leaves fans wondering why the wrestler couldn't see what they were seeing. It's not exactly realistic that a person wouldn't see another come from behind on such a giant screen, and the fact the crowd are alerting them to the danger only adds to the bubble-popping of illusion here.
