Speaking candidly on Chris Jericho's 'Talk Is Jericho' podcast, JTG remarked that some backstage had a problem with Shad Gaspard's attitude in WWE. Sometimes, the man was apparently a little too big for his boots, and it resulted in there being some heat on the team known as Cryme Tyme. Even so, WWE let the duo down badly by splitting them so woefully. The popularity of the team was immediate when they crash-landed on the main roster in 2006. The big man/little man combination worked well, as did the thug-like gimmick they came packaged as. There was even a short period when Cryme Tyme united with John Cena in 2008, forming a short-lived faction called 'CTC' (Cryme Tyme Cenation). In 2010, shortly after WrestleMania XXVI, the team were disbanded. Shad turned heel on JTG, which later led to an anemic one-on-one bout at Extreme Rules. That was it for the duo, as Gaspard was released by the company a few months later November. JTG milled around the lower midcard for a few years until he too was canned in 2014.
