10 Things That MUST Happen Before AEW Full Gear 2022
10. Adam Page Becomes AEW World Champion
Adam Page is winning the AEW World Title at Full Gear 2021.
How could he not?
All Elite Wrestling, unlike WWE, is built upon building and building to these huge moments that benefit from months, even years of teases and subtle details being layered upon one another. This triumphant arc for Adam Page began when AEW did; some would argue even before then, dating back to All In and his Being The Elite escapades.
When he failed in his conquest to earn a World Title match at All Out, Twitter discourse quickly shifted to outrage. How, how, had AEW "failed" to pull the trigger on Adam Page? They hadn't. 'Hangman' had far more important things going on in his life to justify his time away from television, thus creating this euphoric feeling when he ultimately returned on the 6 October Dynamite.
That his anticipated title clash with Kenny Omega is penned in for the Full Gear card, one year to the event that Omega leaned closer to his own World Title capture and perfectly-executed heel turn, is very telling of Tony Khan's booking mentality.
All Out would have provided a solid platform for this moment, but it would have been overshadowed by Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, et al. Full Gear should be free of said debuts, allowing Page to soak in all his glory.
But, there's more to this...
