4. Vince Dismissed Sami’s Birthday Wish
There was a time when Chris Jericho would have felt uncomfortable around Vince McMahon. Y2J has detailed his growing relationship with the boss in his books, and the pair are very good friends today. Imagine being Sami Zayn then, awkwardly looking on as Vince and Chris were all smiles and hugs in McMahon's office.
Sami didn't have a relationship to speak of with his boss back then. To his horror, Jericho then wished Vince a happy birthday. McMahon gratefully showered Y2J with thanks and hugged him. Zayn felt he had to say something, so he joined in and said, "Oh, happy birthday, Vince".
What happened next is priceless.
Mere seconds after beaming over Jericho's birthday wish, Vince looked at Sami out of the corner of his eye, grunted, "Eh" and turned back to Chris. The pair can laugh about it now, but Zayn was legit crestfallen at the time. Hilarious.
