5. Baszler Dethrones Becky

What a mess this turned out to be. After dominating the NXT women's division since her arrival in late 2017, Shayna Baszler finally graduated to the main roster at the 2020 Royal Rumble, tying the record for most eliminations (eight) before being the last woman eliminated, falling short at the feet of Charlotte Flair. Not to be forgotten, Baszler immediately headed to RAW and set her sights on Becky Lynch's RAW Women's Championship. Well, that and her neck.

It made all the sense in the world. Becky had vanquished all who came before her in a career-defining run on top, becoming arguably the most successful female wrestler in modern history, a barrier-smashing hero who revolutionised her sport. All well and true, but a champion is only as strong as her challengers, and The Man had run out of opponents. Baszler was new, fresh and exciting. The Queen of Spades was ready to dethrone Lynch, giving the former Lasskicker a new focus for the rest of the year.

For some reason, this didn't happen. Lynch beat Baszler at WrestleMania 36, only to relinquish the title a month later. Instead of being the new dominant champion, Baszler was left treading water. It still doesn't make sense.
