10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About John Cena

2. That Story With Carlito & Jesús Stabbing Cena

The feud between John Cena and Carlito in late 2004 centered on the United States Title held by Cena. Carlito was a new heel that the company was high on from the beginning and they turned this into a very personal feud. After Carlito won the US Title, they did an angle where they said that Cena was attacked at a nightclub. It wasn't just any attack. Oh no. It was a stabbing incident where they said that Cena had major injuries that caused him to fight for his life because of the attack. In reality, Cena was written out of the storylines for about a month so he could go film The Marine. WWE didn't want to tell the audience that, so they came up with the stabbing storyline. You would think that if a man got stabbed by a knife and they knew who did it that the person that did the stabbing would be locked behind bars for years. After all, it was an attempted murder. But no. This is WWE. They don't use logic all the time. Far from it. Carlito and his buddy Jesus got to settle things with Cena in a wrestling ring. Cena really is the nicest guy ever if he won't even press charges against guys that TRIED TO KILL HIM! Cena got his US Title back and he won the feud, but it was the last time WWE tried to do an angle involving a stabbing. At least they learned that lesson.
