As another calendar year comes to a close, WWE must reflect on the past 12 months. If they're being honest and don't arrogantly dismiss the looming competition posed by the financially watertight AEW, they'll know 2020's output must be better. It's not that 2019 was definitively bad, it's that a company like WWE should always strive for better.

Best to forget the poorer times then, eh? WWE might, but fans won't.

As the summary line suggests, it's been a year of haphazard booking changes (some that actually worked out for the best), superstars who desperately wanted out, and one filled with controversy. As the market leader for so many years, WWE are always going to be under-appreciated for the good they do and hyper-criticised for the negatives. That's just the way it is, and they really don't help themselves sometimes.
