If Chris Benoit vs. Sid Vicious hadn't become a reality at the Souled Out show, one of Vince Russo's backup plans was to hold a big Battle Royal in the main event of the Pay-Per-View. One of the participants, a shoot fighter called Tank Abbott, was tentatively penciled in to leave as WCW World Champion. Let's make things perfectly crystal clear, Abbott wasn't over with WCW fans. The guy did provoke somewhat of a reaction, simply because he was clearly swinging for the fences with his punches during matches, but he wasn't a professional wrestler, and fans picked up on that pretty quickly. It would have been an aberration had WCW handed the belt to Tank. Admittedly, at least he was a physically active member of the roster, as opposed to David Arquette, but he was woefully under-prepared to hold any championship in the company, let alone the top title. Thankfully, this one didn't come to pass, and neither did Russo's big Abbott vs. Goldberg match for the World Title.
