10 Times Great Wrestlers Got Lazy In Big Matches

7. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Samoa Joe (NXT TV - 8 December 2016)

Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the best wrestlers on the planet when the mood takes him. His performances against the likes of AJ Styles, Kota Ibushi, and Sami Zayn prove that nobody's better than 'The King Of Strong Style' when he hits full speed, but those occasions have become few and far between.

Sadly, Nakamura's penchant for taking it easy and coasting on his charisma was well-known long before his arrival in WWE. It has escalated since then, and while frustrating, it's easy to understand. Nak's body has taken a great deal of wear and tear throughout his lengthy career, and he knows he can get by on personality alone, so why try to over exert himself every week?

Shinsuke looked especially lethargic towards the end of his NXT feud with Samoa Joe. The company must shoulder some of the blame for booking them against each other so many times, but Nak's effort levels gradually declined throughout, and he was barely even mailing it in by the end. Their feud culminated inside a steel cage in December 2016, with Nakamura's general laziness nuking what should've been a memorable blow-off match, though Joe wasn't much better himself.
