10 Times Great Wrestlers Got Lazy In Big Matches

6. Hulk Hogan Vs. Vader (WCW Bash At The Beach 1995)

Hulk Hogan delivered one of the worst in-ring years of his career in 1995. Crowds had turned on him not only for his outdated persona, but because he'd become increasingly lazy between the ropes, resulting in a long line of dull, uneventful WCW Title performances. Even working with Big Van Vader, one of the most talented "big men" in wrestling history, couldn't light a spark inside him, and their Bash At The Beach 1995 clash totally failed to deliver.

The match was marred by multiple interferences (because WCW), but the work itself was dire. Vader tried, but Hogan barely broke out of second gear, and his constant attempts at playing to an increasingly disinterested crowd failed. He eventually won by escaping the cage, but it was one of Hulk's worst performances of the year up to that point, and a dismal way for the WWF-bound Vader to bow out on pay-per-view.

Hogan's year would get even worse at Halloween Havoc, when he and The Giant competed in a historically bad main event, and it took his heel turn at Bash Of The Beach '96 to reignite his ailing career.
