10 Times WWE Lost Their Minds

4. The Streak Ends

From a storytelling point of view, WrestleMania XXX will go down as one of the best evenings in WWE history. Unfortunately, there was also a major blemish on the event - The Undertaker suffered his first defeat at the show of shows.

Undertaker made his WrestleMania debut in 1991, and missing only the 1994 and 2000 events left him with a 21-match win streak at the show. By the end, his matches had taken on such gravity that they were often seen as more important than the title fights or main events at a given WrestleMania.

While WrestleMania XXX was all about Daniel Bryan, Undertaker's battle with Brock Lesnar at the show of shows was also a major dream match. Unfortunately, a concussion that Undertaker suffered in the early goings left him loopy, and the bout fell apart - it was a 25-minute mess. What people really remember, though, is the end - after hitting a third F5 on Undertaker, Lesnar pinned "The Deadman" to forever tarnish his perfect record.

Fans were stunned and disappointed, and it's a testament to Bryan and his journey that they were even able to get back into the show for the main event. Still, damage was done to The Undertaker that couldn't be reversed. His bout the next year against Bray Wyatt was an afterthought, and while it was rumored that Vince McMahon made the call because he thought the Brock bout would be Undertaker's last, any fan could have told him that wouldn't be the case.

As for Brock, the new unbeatable force in the company won the WWE Championship at SummerSlam and was supposed to drop it to the next big up-and-comer, making a brand-new superstar. That didn't happen, and Brock finally got his comeuppance almost three years later at the hands of 50-year-old Bill Goldberg.
