6. Austin 3:16 Was A Game-Changer

According to legend, Stone Cold's famous Austin 3:16 speech at King of the Ring 1996 propelled him into the main event, where he remained until the day he fought his last match in early 2003.

That's only half true, though. Like any great wrestler, the 'Texas Rattlesnake' didn't become a mega-star over night, and spent the weeks and months immediately following his alleged "moment of truth" in much the same spot as he was before: the mid-card, occasionally paired up with anonymous jobbers.

It would be nearly two years before he won the WWF title with victory over Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIV, and only then - off the heels of a long feud with Bret Hart - could he really claim the full support of the crowd.
