Shane Douglas did his best to succeed in the World Wrestling Federation. His earlier run during 1990-1991 was ended prematurely, when the wrestler took time away from the industry to care for his father. From there, a second stint in the WWF was a chance for Douglas to prove himself all over again. Even though he was playing the cartoon-like 'Dean Douglas', the man's in-ring skills would surely see him through. Returning to the company in 1995, Dean was set to face Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Title at In Your House 4: Great White North in October. Due to apparent injuries, Michaels was forced to forfeit the belt to Douglas, which made the smug heel grin with delight. Immediately however, he was booked to defend against Razor Ramon, and lost the title in rapid fashion. From there, Dean's WWF tenure never got back on track. Just a few months later, he had left the promotion and made his way back to Extreme Championship Wrestling. In truth, that company seemed to suit him better, but he was never really given much chance to prove his worth in the WWF. The short Intercontinental Title run did absolutely nothing for his career.
