10 Toughest WWE Superstars Of The 21st Century
5. Wade Barrett
When Stu Bennett entered the world of WWE as Wade Barrett, he was introduced to the WWE Universe as a former bare-knuckle fighter. While such claims would usually be momentarily dismissed as standard BS WWE backstory, in Barrett's case, this claim wasn't actually far from the truth.
Barrett himself has stated that he did indeed used to be partake in bare-knuckle fights during his 20s. His nose has clearly taken a hammering based on the visible curvature of the bridge - a break commonly associated with fighting - and the facial feature corroborates his story.
In addition to this, he sports a huge scar on his back that, based on Barrett's own testimony, was the result of a knife attack in Hungary. According to Barrett, his assailant went to rob him of his winnings after a big money fight and sliced Barrett's back during proceedings. Nonetheless, the attacker took a karmic pasting for his troubles.
Assuming the above is true, Wade Barrett is undoubtedly one badass individual. If it's simply kayfabe storytelling, then WWE did a spectacular job. Regardless of which is true, any man willing to label himself a bare-knuckle fighter must be pretty confident he can back it up. By that ethos, Barrett must be one tough SOB.
