10 UFC Fights That Did Not Go To Plan
4. Michael Bisping Shocks Luke Rockhold (UFC 199)
When the aforementioned Chris Weidman was forced to drop out of his Middleweight title fight with then-Champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 199, Michael Bisping was in the middle of filming XXX: Return of Xander Cage. However, when he was offered the chance to fight for the belt on short notice, Bisping dropped what he was doing and got his ass into shape for the fight of his life.
Rockhold had already beaten Bisping once back in 2014 and he'd been fully preparing himself for a title defence in the lead up to the UFC 199 event, whereas the Brit had spent the last few weeks on a film set. All signs pointed to yet another loss for 'The Count'.
But, he only went and bloody did it!
Bisping finally became Britain's first ever UFC Champion and completely rearranged the top of the Middleweight division after he caught Rockhold off-guard with a sickening left in the first round.
What should have been a filler fight for Rockhold soon turned into the ultimate underdog story and Bisping reminded us all that just about anything can happen once you step inside the Octagon.
