One of the most physically-imposing tag-team of the 80's, The Roadwarriors were poised to hit the then-WWF hard as the 1990's dawned, signing just six months into the new decade. Feeling they'd simply be packaged the same way they had been in the NWA and Japan, Hawk and Animal were dumbfounded when Vince told them they wouldn't be called The Roadwarriors in the promotion. Citing the similarity to The Ultimate Warrior's name, McMahon instead told the pair to come up with a new moniker, eventually settling on the Legion Of Doom, something the duo had previously used as part of their act. Feeling like the idea of stripping them of their name was unbelievably petty, Roadwarrior Animal even cornered Vince, telling him that he wouldn't stand for him mindlessly throwing his weight around. This was obviously a very risky move from Animal, who could have simply ruined his chances with the company by approaching McMahon in this way. Even though they'd eventually go on to capture the WWF Tag-Team Titles, The Roadwarriors arguably wouldn't have the same level of success they'd experienced before 1990 ever again.
