Leaving shortly after the 1997 Survivor Series to join WCW, Hart wanted to leave with his head held high, but McMahon was worried he'd show up on WCW television with the WWF Title, feeling that could ruin his company. This all resulted in the ending to the title match between Hart and Shawn Michaels, one of the most shocking moments in pro wrestling history.
