9. Emory Hale
Standing approx 6'9" and weighing in excess of 350lbs, big Emory Hale seemed to have the size and muscle mass to be a top WCW name. The guy even had one of wrestling's most famous managers in his corner; Jimmy Hart could be found pointing and smiling with Hale in promo pics during the late-90s.

He got nowhere.
Hale toiled for years on house shows and Saturday Night after making his debut in 1998. After a few token appearances on Nitro and Thunder (the latter was an appearance as 'The Machine' that has to be seen to be believed), he disappeared from WCW and later signed for the short-lived XWF.

Hale sadly passed away from kidney failure in 2006 after years of fighting for his life in hospital. He was only 36.
