7. Sheamus Vs. Shorty G

A trademark main roster beat-down/match/beat-down/match/beat-down/match feud that feels like it has lasted forever, but has only lasted a month, Sheamus Vs. Shorty G has also ended, with a definitive winner, and yet it continues.

There aren't even two story beats - those being '50' and '50' - because Sheamus is better in canon than Shorty G. The end. Except it isn't the end. This isn't a storyline so much as a deeply basic means of pushing Sheamus, but that is the purpose of every storyline. The premise shouldn't reveal itself so immediately and so obviously. That's what two-minute squash matches are for, not month-long programmes.

Sheamus set upon Shorty G because, as revealed in his return vignettes, he has deemed SnackDown very silly, and feels Shorty G symbolises that silliness. He beat the piss out of him at Royal Rumble en route to a clean win. That's it. That's the story. Sheamus has bullied a smaller man, establishing himself as a bully heel, and should now rise up to meet a new rival further up the card. He has, in Apollo Crews, but consider how this has played out.

Shorty G attacked Sheamus, and it felt petulant. He didn't take his loss like a man. Sheamus then moved on to Crews, but Shorty G wouldn't go away. Sheamus defeated Shorty G at the Rumble in 12 minutes. On SmackDown last week, he defeated both Shorty G and Apollo Crews in three minutes.

At this dumbass rate, he'll be winning three-on-one handicap matches in minus six minutes.
