10 Worst WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2010s
5. Alberto Del Rio (August-September 2011)
The much-vaunted 'Summer of Punk' didn't actually get started until November.
While everyone remembers Money in the Bank 2011, it's easy to forget that the following months were complete tosh.
Punk should have solidified his main event status at SummerSlam, when he beat John Cena in the main event to unify the two different WWE titles.
Hang on a second, is that... Kevin Nash? Yes, of all people, Big Daddy Cool lumbered into the ring and laid out the Straight Edge Superstar. This allowed Money in the Bank holder Alberto Del Rio to cash in and bring Punk's momentum to a screeching halt.
Del Rio didn't even get to drop the belt back to the man he'd beaten. His first WWE title reign ended at Night of Champions when he lost to Cena. What was Punk doing on this show?
Losing to Triple H, of course! The Mexican star got another run with the belt after winning it back at Hell in a Cell, but at least that one ended at the hands of Punk.
His first reign was a total disaster from start to finish. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...
