10 Worst WWE Matches Of 2017

6. The Undertaker Vs. Roman Reigns (WrestleMania 33)

The Undertaker and Roman Reigns collapsing together following a failed Tombstone reversal sequence was oddly reminiscent of a bridging suplex gone wrong between Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels. That match also took place under the Orlando sky, and at a WrestleMania no less. But that's where the comparison ends.

'Slick Ric' and 'HBK' were experienced artists on the canvas, able to paint the brief flub into their personal picture of an old veteran coming to the end of his run.

Fans organically bawled as Michaels apologetically told Flair how much he loved him before putting him out to pasture. The Undertaker had to drag the tears kicking and screaming out of 'WWE Universe' faces at WrestleMania 33, and that was if the crowd hadn't fallen asleep half-way through the utterly useless show-closer between 'The Deadman' and Roman Reigns. His ceremonial disrobing was so protracted it started to feel like the first striptease since WWE went PG.

Part-timers get an absolute thrashing from observers for turning up when the lights shine brightest the promoters pay highest, but Undertaker's been plodding on for years with nary a cat-call from an audience forced into watching him pathetically limp through battles with Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon and the select few others he deigned worthy of his 'rub'.

If his woeful effort against Reigns really was his swan-song (and company and performer alike have been frustratingly ambiguous about that as well), few could argue how overdue it really was. Don't rest in peace, but just go and have a rest...
