3. Michael Cole Defeats Jerry Lawler - WrestleMania XXVI
The feud between Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler in 2011 will go down as one of the worst feuds in professional history and for good reason. Beefs between announcers is a staple of pro wrestling, but they have generally always been kept to the booth, as they should. Unfortunately, Cole and Lawler had to settle their squabble in a match at WrestleMania. Cole had Jack Swagger in his corner, and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin was assigned as the referee for the match. Ridiculously the match almost clocked in at a quarter of an hour, before Cole finally tapped out to the Ankle Lock. Lawler and Austin celebrated, and everyone was happy. This lasted until the Anonymous General Manager chimed in, claiming that Austin was a biased referee and the decision was to be reversed. An all time great professional wrestler was denied a WrestleMania win, and a commentator universally hated (actually hated, not wrestling heat) was handed one of the cheapest wins in the history of the event. The feud also continued, which nobody wanted.
