10 Wrestlers Who Crossed Vince McMahon For Real
2. CM Punk
The Voice of the Voiceless wasn’t feeling a feud and match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX. Concussed, ill and frustrated with his booking, Punk walked out on WWE the night after Royal Rumble 2014. Frequent refusals to return and a curiously timed issue of termination sent on his wedding day ended all hopes of an imminent Punk return.
Several months later, Punk would infamously go on then-pal Colt Cabana’s popular Art of Wrestling podcast to tear WWE a new one. Burying McMahon, Triple H, Dr Chris Amann and the company as a whole, Punk’s furious tirade led to a years' long legal battle with Amann over his alleged misconduct. Ultimately victorious, Punk and Cabana fell out hard whilst Punk became probably the worst fighter to have set foot in a UFC Octagon.
Despite the endless embarrassment and legal trouble, Fox somehow convinced Punk return for their WWE Backstage show. Now an analyst, Punk mostly criticises the current state of WWE programming. Reports indicate McMahon remains angry over the disputes with Punk and considers him too much trouble to do business with again, meaning Punk’s journey back to wrestling may prove a stunted one.
