10 Wrestlers Who Crossed Vince McMahon For Real
3. The Ultimate Warrior
A few months after his classic WrestleMania VII clash with Macho Man Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior mailed Vince McMahon a host of demands for his new WWF contract. They included a $550,000 bonus for his work at WrestleMania, a better percentage of merchandise royalties and the lush convenience of travel accommodations. Warrior warned that he would be staying home until his demands were met. In response, McMahon suspended him which prompted Warrior to quit.
With stars such as Hulk Hogan winding down and preparing to leave the WWF, Vince McMahon ultimately caved, leading to the Warrior’s return at WrestleMania VIII. A series of odd feuds and booking decisions followed until the US government’s crackdown on PEDs kicked off. An admitted user of various steroids, the Warrior had begun experimenting with HGH, leading to McMahon suspending him once again. Leaving again, Warrior would return briefly in 1996 to bury some youngster by the name of Hunter Hearst Helmsley before frequently no showing, leading to his third and final split from the promotion.
In the years after, McMahon and Warrior often bad mouthed one another with WWE even putting out The Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior, a less than flattering DVD special on the wrestler. Bridges were ultimately mended enough for Warrior to go into the Hall of Fame shortly before his passing in 2014.
