10 Wrestlers Who Crossed Vince McMahon For Real
4. Alundra Blayze
The reigning and defending WWF Women’s Champion of the world, Alundra Blayze, was released from her contract in December 1995. She was among many cost cutting casualties at a point when WWF was in dire financial straits. With the Women’s Championship now vacant until 1998, Blayze returned to WCW for the first time in two years and reverted back to her earlier Madusa persona.
Debuting on the 18 December 1995 edition of WCW Monday Nitro, Madusa arrived with her title belt in hand. Cutting a furious promo on the WWF, she proceeded to drop the belt in a trash can. Her actions led to WWE blacklisting her for the next 20 years.
Blayze has since admitted to regretting the incident and being unhappy with Eric Bischoff’s decision to book the angle in the first place. WWE would ultimately forgive her, inducting her into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. During her speech, she retrieved the title from a trash can and declared herself the still-reigning WWF Women’s Champion. Blayze has since competed at WWE’s Evolution pay per view and is among the many figures to have held the 24/7 Championship.
