10 Wrestlers Who Had No Business Competing In Money In The Bank

2. Heath Slater (Money In The Bank 2011)

Did anyone really have Heath Slater down as a potential winner of a crack at the World Heavyweight Title in 2011? Yes, the man had just come out of the whole Nexus affair not too long before, but that remains the highlight of his entire WWE run, which has thus far played out mostly in the mid-card scene. Slater is an entertaining performer when given the chance, but he's not someone people really regard as being in that upper echelon of talent, and the same thing could be said several years ago in 2011. Much like Justin Gabriel, there was nothing really wrong with his performance in the Money In The Bank match, but he was just making up numbers. Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett and possibly Sheamus were the only ones that fans could envisage winning the briefcase at the time, but the likes of Slater, Gabriel, Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes and even Kane were only there because there was apparently nobody else more eligible to fill their spots. Harsh, maybe, but it seems to ring true.
