10 Wrestlers Who Managed To Get Themselves Out Of Terrible Ideas

6. Dan Severn

UFC legend Dan "The Beast" Severn never really fit into Attitude Era WWE. Despite his four-year-long reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion, the ultra-tough, ultra-stoic Severn was easily overshadowed by the personalities of 1998. Even a high-profile match pitting Severn against Shamrock - a rehash of a famous UFC feud - never came to pass.

Severn's tenure in WWE didn't last long, but apparently, the company was willing to take one more stab with him. According to Severn, he was approached by a road agent who wanted him to join The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness and come out to the ring with "666" - the Christian "number of the beast" - written on his forehead.

Severn refused, noting that he lived in a small, conservative town and didn't want any repercussions associated with the character he played on TV. Plus, let's be honest - it's not like that was what was going to get him over. Tensions between him and WWE heightened after the exchange, and he soon left the company.
