10 Wrestlers Who Must Win A WWE Championship By WrestleMania 38
6. Rey And Dominik Mysterio
Look, Rey and Dominik Mysterio are going to be tag champs at some point. Had the recent four-way tag for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships been on WrestleMania itself rather than the special pre-'Mania SmackDown, then they likely would have dethroned The Dirty Dawgs at Dom's first 'Mania.
WWE thrives on generational superstars. The Harts, the Anoa'is, the Guerreros, the list seriously does go on. Rey and Dominik Mysterio haven't left each other's side since the latter's official WWE debut last summer. That's a good thing.
Dominik's first championship victory is surely going down later in 2021. He's nowhere near enough ready to be a WWE or Universal Champion, whereas both the United States and Intercontinental Championships are a tad outwith his reach right now. As great as that SummerSlam bout was vs. Seth Rollins, the guy is still a tad green.
That's why the SmackDown Tag Team Championships are the best bet for him and father Rey (unless they're traded to Raw between now and April next year).
It all ties in as well, considering Rey's first title within WWE was the WWE Tag Team Championships - a SmackDown-branded title when he lifted them - alongside Edge. Building this up as Dominik following directly in his father's footsteps is credible booking for now, so long as he goes down his own path later.
