Very much unlike some of the other entries of this list, the artist formerly known as Mistico can't blame anyone other than himself for the reasons why he failed in World Wrestling Entertainment. Perhaps the company could have done more to accommodate his unique in-ring style, but as Sin Cara, Mistico was a complete and utter failure. Hyped heavily by the promotion, all signs were pointing to the idea of Sin Cara being an eventual replacement for Rey Mysterio. Possessing lightning quickness and an ornate mask that sold by the shed load at merchandise stands, Cara should have been popular with both children and adults alike. Sadly, Mistico would never really fit in WWE, something which was obvious even during his first matches. Putting the man in there with grapplers like Chavo Guerrero was a smart move, and there's no reason why Sin Cara shouldn't have been a success, but between botching his entrance and several of his high-flying moves, the original Sin Cara was a failed project, and it was back to the drawing board for WWE with the masked character.
