10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be WWE Champion Again
7. Dolph Ziggler
We tend to regard Dolph Ziggler as a hardened veteran whose moment in the spotlight has long since been and passed, but the reality is that he's only 37; younger than AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, and just a smidgen older than Finn Bálor.
The problem is less one of age than it is familiarity. In some guise or other, the former US Champion has been on our screens for well over a decade, and as such, it's difficult for him to do anything new or impressive in the eyes of the audience.
Does this mean another run as World Champion is completely out of the question? Not necessarily; in fact, some are (very tentatively) prepared to suggest that his latest "retirement" angle could function as a launchpad for another run at the main event.
But that's a long shot. A more likely scenario is that he returns to SmackDown at some point between now and WrestleMania, ostensibly refreshed and raring to go, before gradually settling back into the same middle-of-the-show spot that he was in before.
Yeah, it's depressing, but that's WWE for you.
