10 Wrestlers Who Will Suffer The Most In WWE NXT's New Era
3. Johnny Gargano
Looking back on the history of WWE, it's clear that wrestlers like Johnny Gargano have been pushing a boulder up a hill when trying to make it big. Although icons like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels proved that technical skill and a smaller frame could still lead to a thriving career, they were the exception.
Then, the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan came along and helped to pave a new road for smaller, former indie stars to make a name for themselves. But where are they now? They've both made it clear that even at its best, WWE still doesn't treat its former independent darlings right, so there's not much hope for Gargano.
Despite being over with the fans and putting on many spectacular matches, Vince McMahon will look at Gargano as nothing more than a B-plus player thanks to his lean body type, age, and perceived lack of airport appeal. There's plenty of evidence to prove that he can be the face of NXT, but this new era will likely not see it that way.
