Released in 2012, 'The British Wrestler' is an entertaining look at the Scottish wrestling phenomenon known as Grado. Graeme Stevely is not the stereotypical professional wrestler, but it's immediately noticeable just how much natural energy and charisma the man has. Since this documentary was released, the focal promotion of the film, Insane Championship Wrestling, has experienced a lot more success. The subject of two documentaries on BBC One, ICW and Grado have went from strength-to-strength, finally starting to achieve their respective goals. Grado has even made appearances on other BBC shows in Scotland, almost becoming the first cross-over star in the history of the country. It's in the frustration shown during this VICE production that 'The British Wrestler' really stands out, however. There's an air of, 'we'll show them' about the words of Grado and ICW owner, Mark Dallas. Similar to Wrestling Road Diaries, this one effectively explores the life of the independent wrestler.
